The Sirona Open Day 2025 is nearly here!

Sirona is gearing up for another super Open Day on Saturday 21st June

We are so excited about our upcoming Community Open Day on Saturday 21st June, each year it just gets better and better!

In 2023 we raised a fantastic £1424.26 with over 170 people in attendance! Last year, in 2024 we saw another bumper attendance of 203 visitors and funds raised for the charity totalled £1612.45!  Sirona is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and relies on fundraising to help provide equine-based educational and therapeutic activities to disadvantaged young people and adults in the local area.

Can we beat that this year for 2025? Are you coming along? Read on what’s in store….

.

Our famous raffle yet again is one not to be missed with prizes ranging from a Classic Cottages holiday voucher worth £250, a voucher for an afternoon tea for two at the White Hart on the Dartington Estate, a main course meal for 2 at the Cott Inn, and a beautiful painting of Sirona ponies calmly grazing in their field created especially for our raffle by a local artist plus lots of prizes inbetween including a pedicure, jewellery and much more.

Last year, it dawned a gorgeous sunny day, blessing the beautiful Dartington Estate for our Open Day and at 11am we opened our gate to 203 visitors throughout the day who enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere, meeting the ponies, goats and other animals and of course the human team here at Sirona! We hope to meet again friends we made last year and some new ones this year.

There were lots of other activities to do aswell, like watching the Pony Agility Demo where some of our participants demonstrated their skills and worked alongside the ponies in the arena, over and around some tricky obstacles. These skills are vital to creating trust and a working relationship with the animals and can help the young person develop competencies and life skills.

The Cake Stall was a roaring success last year and this year we hope to rival the many cakes donated for sale and you can pick up a light bite for lunch in our Tack Room Café. We also had a wonderful Coffee and Ice-cream Horsebox,  Creamo’s Icecream Club to serve refreshments aswell who will be back with us this year.

Our Bric a Brac and plant stalls had some very good trade with some handmade adorable crocheted ponies and the Crafting/Games activities were very popular with horse shoe decorating and other arts.

And not forgetting the Raffle again, there are some great prizes to be won this year so do be in it to win it!

From the A384 turn in to the Dartington Estate by St Mary’s church. Carry on past Schumacher then Dartington Dairy/Parsonage Farm on the left and then Landworks on the right. There will be a cricket pitch on your right, at the end of this turn right, immediately right again and then left.  Turn immediately left again down the track (Foxhole car park is opposite the turning on your right). Drive past the School Farm greenhouses, follow the track around to the right and then around to the left. Continue on up the hill until you arrive at Sirona.

You can find us on google maps and see exactly where we are on satellite view, but the track is unmarked on the normal view so don’t follow google’s directions as it will take you to the wrong place! https://goo.gl/maps/SATojBvhuarFUTYbA

Finally, if you do want to follow google maps etc, search for School Farm CSA, Totnes and then follow the directions above and our Sirona signs from there.
